Jaunt to the West Country

Last weekend we hired a car had a very swift trip down to Cornwall. We were going to Bristol to see Richard Thompson in concert and took the opportunity for a quick jaunt across the Tamar. In the few hours were were there we managed to squeeze in loads of stuff.  Having been sustained by a bacon & egg sarnie & a mug of tea in the Mission we had a distinctly chilly wander around Newlyn Harbour….

We had a chance to stay the night with our Ellie in Perranporth and had wonderful (and more than a little alcoholic) night out. She’s got a wonderful view from her front garden –  great place for a barbeque in the summer.

We also got to pop in to see Nic & Tom and met young Finlay Powell for the first time.

Gorgeous!

All this and we also got to go up to Bristol on the Saturday, stayed with Gordon’s sister Heth and had an incredible night out with a host of other old farts watching Richard Thompson in the Colston Hall – amazing!
