About

Hi, we’re Dot & Gordon Campbell and we’ve taken early retirement, moved out of our house in Newlyn in Cornwall – just as we’d got it exactly the way we like it -and are spending a few years cruising the waterways of the UK in our 57ft narrowboat ย ‘Ewn Ha Cul’ (Cornish for Straight and Narrow).

Who does the stained glass pictures?

    • ewnhacul says:

That’d be me Carol. I’ve been doing it for a few years now and it keeps me out of mischief ๐Ÿ˜‰

I take thatโ€™s Dot then! I love the fish picture of your blog header. Are they done with individual pieces of coloured glass leaded together in the traditional way or is it leaded and then painted? They really do look very professional.

      • ewnhacul says:

Yes Carol, it’s Dot ๐Ÿ™‚ All the lamps and panels are done with pieces of coloured glass cut to shape then each piece is lined with copper foil and the whole thing is soldered together with tin/led solder. The fish panel is in place over someone’s bathroom in Cornwall and is my favourite too.

Dot/Gordon, could I use one or two of your pics in a piece I am preparing for Waterways World about cruising the Derwent & Pocklington? I’d appreciate emailing you, but there’s no email address here.
    Thanks
    Andrew Denny

Hi Andrew, you’re welcome to use any pictures you like. I’ve dropped you an email just in case you need to get in touch. Cheers Dot & Gordon

  4. Lovely to see you in the village of Bilsborrow where I live. Are you off down the Ribble Link shortly? I have Cornish friends from the Falmouth area who have nb Just do It on the Shroppie. I love my holidays with them and have cruised all over the country with them and on nb Gloriana from the K&A.
