On Sunday we made our second attempt to travel by steam train on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway – successful this time!
When the train pulled in we were very glad to see that it had a lot more carriages than the diesel from the previous day – there were a heck of a lot of people who wanted to travel!
Some steam train porn for those who enjoy that sort of thing.
The line is manned by volunteers who will freely admit that they’re doing it to get to play with a life sized train set!
We’d been to Haworth the day before so we decided to just take a trip to the end of the line at Oxenhope, hunt out a Sunday Roast, then head home.
All the stations along the way are all beautifully kept.
We were also successful in our hunt for Sunday lunch. The Bay Horse in Oxenhope is about a fifteen minute uphill walk from the station and puts on a lovely, reasonably priced, Sunday Roast. All our day’s plans fulfilled with a little bit of exercise thrown in for good measure!
